No-Hate November

hug_schoolTeachers and more than 700 Pre-K to 5th grade students at Carver Elementary stepped outside to “hug the school” November 15. The school theme for the month is “No Hate November – Honoring Others”, and they held several events to reinforce the theme.  They honored Veterans Nov 11, created a Tree of Respect in the cafeteria, and talked about bullying issues during “No Name Calling” week. Georgetown ISD is a No Place for Hate school district. Nationally, the Anti-Defamation League believes children live and work in a world that is much more diverse than the one we grew up in. Preparing them for success requires providing students with an education in which social, ethical, and academic development are inseparable goals. No Place for Hate helps create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference.
