The Austin Film Festival, October 13-20, has opportunities for volunteer drivers.  A film pass giving access to 8 days of film screenings, access to parties and other events are offered depending on the number of hours doing volunteer driving for the festival. Duties for the drivers includes taking guests to and from the airport.  Also, there are red carpet events that drivers will be needed for.  The festival provides vehicles for the drivers.

If interested and want more information please contact Frank Zhu, transportation coordinator for the festival.  His office phone number is 512-478-4795.
Drive-a-Senior has its roots in a 1985 pilot program called Faith In Action – Senior Access. The Greater Austin Metropolitan region was targeted based on 1980 census tracks that showed a high concentration of people over the age of 60. Modeled after a national volunteer caregiver project, the pilot program offered transportation, companionship and minor home repairs; services that enabled older adults to continue living independently.
